Carmien - De la ferme<\/h1>\n

Alors que la saison de r\u00e9colte de Carmien touche \u00e0 sa fin, les anciens champs de th\u00e9 sont en train d'\u00eatre d\u00e9frich\u00e9s afin de pouvoir planter de l'avoine pour restaurer le biome du sol. Leur rendement estim\u00e9 en rooibos sera de l'ordre de 2,5 tonnes par hectare.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Les bonnes pluies et les conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques fra\u00eeches enregistr\u00e9es en novembre-d\u00e9cembre ont entra\u00een\u00e9 une bonne croissance mais, dans le m\u00eame temps, la maturation (qui n\u00e9cessite des conditions chaudes et ensoleill\u00e9es) a \u00e9t\u00e9 retard\u00e9e par les conditions plus fra\u00eeches et humides. Carmien a estim\u00e9 recevoir environ 500 tonnes de rooibos dans son usine de transformation de Bergendal cette ann\u00e9e mais, malgr\u00e9 une excellente qualit\u00e9, cet exc\u00e8s d'humidit\u00e9 n'a entra\u00een\u00e9 qu'une r\u00e9alisation d'environ 48% du th\u00e9 humide au th\u00e9 sec pendant la transformation.<\/p>\n

Alors que les derniers champs de th\u00e9 sont en train d'\u00eatre r\u00e9colt\u00e9s, les graines de rooibos ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 sem\u00e9es dans notre p\u00e9pini\u00e8re de th\u00e9. En plus de leur propre p\u00e9pini\u00e8re, ils fournissent \u00e9galement des graines \u00e0 des producteurs de semences agr\u00e9\u00e9s qui leur fournissent ensuite des plants lorsqu'ils sont pr\u00eats. Tous leurs nouveaux champs de th\u00e9 sont plant\u00e9s avec des plantules, et non des graines. Les graines sont r\u00e9colt\u00e9es en tamisant la terre autour de la base des th\u00e9iers et sont envoy\u00e9es pour subir un processus de frottement appel\u00e9 \"frottage\". scarification<\/em>\u00a0to soften the hard outer shell that prohibits germination.
